a blog is born

this blog was born out of my son's imagination. somehow we manage to find great adventure in ordinary activities. one day while hanging out in the front yard while daddy cleaned the yard, we were playing with a balloon. we weren't paying attention and suddenly it was gone, it was not helium filled so it had not gone airborne.

to distract my son from being upset, i told him that we should think of 10 things that might have happened to our blue balloon. among his ideas was the thought that perhaps a patch of dirt under some flowering trees, was actually balloon quicksand. then he said that maybe there was a whole new world under the dirt - dirtlantis.

so here we are.
